NZ Wood Timber Design Awards 2011

The NZ Wood Timber Design Awards is a highly acclaimed, annual awards event showcasing the innovative, structural and aesthetic use of timber by New Zealand architects and engineers. The entrants constantly provide projects of an exceptionally high standard, making the evening a stimulating and valuable event for everyone with an appreciation for timber and design.

This year we are proud to present guest-speaker and architect Jasper van de Lingen of Sheppard & Rout Architects Limited. Jasper will speak about his involvement in the Christchurch City rebuild and his recent participation in the 48-hour design challenge - the Christchurch City Council run-competition aimed at generating innovative design concepts for the Christchurch City Centre - and his experience as a member of the NZ Wood team who took out the supreme award. The awards will be presented by long-standing sports broadcaster Geoff Bryan.

The evening will begin at 5.30pm with drinks and canapés, and provides the opportunity for attendees to view all the 2011 entries, discuss the entries with companies involved, and network with other industry-related contacts. Coffee and dessert will follow the formal proceedings at approximately 8.30pm, and is all inclusive of the ticket cost.

The Timber Design Awards are being held in conjunction with a half day seminar hosted by the Timber Design Society, presenting the opportunity to discuss award winning and exceptional timber designs, focused on last years’ winning projects.
