Trees play a big part on Alec's 300-hectare drystock rolling hill country property. Alec describes how his plantings bring multiple benefits including erosion control, shade, shelter, water quality, biodiversity, aesthetics as well as income and options for succession planning/retirement income. Recent harvest returns are discussed. Species include eucalypts (including E. botryoides for flooring timber), cypress, oaks, walnuts, redwoods, thuja, natives.
