On this centre-pivot-irrigated property, trees have planted for shelter for many generations, starting with sheltering the homestead, then stock and crops. New shelter plantings are of Leyland cypress (Leighton Green and Robinsons Gold); other older belts have been shortened to allow irrigators to pass over the top.
